To Fake Tan or Embrace my Paleness??

Here in the UK the weather has been dull, Rain and COLD!!! We were having such nice warm weather and then one morning last week it was so cold outside I literally froze my butt off!! Hat, Scarf and gloves were bought out, It was that bad!

My dilemma is do I fake tan in these cold dark months of the year?( Oct-Nov-Dec-Jan etc..) or Do I embrace my Paleness which is great for Halloween at the end of this month!!

I have an abundance of fake tans, self tans, gradual tans etc.. I always enjoy fake tanning after a shower and exfoliation, I love the colour that I get after fake tanning, I feel all healthy and bronzed, my make-up goes on so much better when I have tan on my face.
When I'm pale I feel like I'm breaking myself in for Frankenstein's bride! I have to change all my make-up over to pale and interesting colours and get the Autumn/Winter shades of nail polish out! Great Stuff! I wonder if when I fake tan will I look as if I'm totally Fake as I won't be the same colour as everyone else who embraces the paleness of the cold wet dull months of the year Or should I get bronzed to stand out so I can pretend I've just been holidaying on the coast of Malaga ~ All year round sunbathing! I am so opposed to sunbeds though, I totally believe that they're a risk to your health and give you premature wrinkles, I do not and will not get involved with a sunbed, I would rather be pale and vampire-like for the rest of my life than go on a sunbed! Oosh!

So! My question is Do You fake tan in the cold dull wet months of the year Or Do you stay pale and proud?? Let me know in the comments box which you prefer...

Some of my Self Tan Collection! Well used and grubby!

Overall opinion of this month's box is I Love it! ( apart from the fragrance) I'm ignoring that it's even there! They still won't do anything even if I complain about receiving it, (so poop to them!)

My fave is the HD Brows Bronzer which is so shiny and feels expensive, the serum, the eyeliner pen and eyelashes are also a great edition to my kit but I was puzzled to why I received an eyeliner which is in US dollars and made in china? what does that have to do with LONDON UK??? surely they could have found a UK brand to get their eye liner pen's from?? Oh well!! I'm not complaining because it really is a great eye liner pen.

So what did you get in your September 2013 Glossybox?? Let me know in the comments box...

Avon Mega Effects Mascara Review UK.

Today, I'm writing a review for the Avon Mega Effects Mascara ~ Blackest Black which I bought on Ebay.co.uk for £6.00

I took my fave mascara off at the moment (Rimmel ScandalEyes Retro Glam) and applied the Mega Effects with the trendy brush that comes with it, It reminds me of a paint brush but an adjustable one!

I applied it to my eyelashes and Bam!!! Coated lashes from root to tips!

I'm going to need a lot of practice so I don't keep smudging my eyes every time I apply

It claims on the website "breakthrough mascara provides 24-hour volume, leaving lashes darker, denser and more dramatic. Get ready for a corner to corner lash transformation with our first ever Wonderbrush."

I find it gives good coverage to my lashes, Not so much volume but lengthens and separates but is a very wet formula, takes a while to dry and when I was applying, because I have hooded eyelids, the mascara smudged on my top lid and underneath the bottom lashes, (I've taken a few pictures to show how much it smudged, please excuse the bags Shopping trolley under my eye, getting used to early mornings again with back to school)

I like this mascara but I find it a big gimmicky, comes in a paint pot with an adjustable paint brush, nice to be able to move the wand around so I can get my lashes from different angles but hopefully the formula dries out a little bit over the weeks of usage because I can't cope with waiting times in the morning, I need to apply and go out the door!

All I can say is give it a try and see how you like it but I don't think I could wear this for a night out or for a dramatic Make-up look, doesn't give lashes a lot of volume but it's nice enough to use for every day but I'll have to wait for the smudges to dry to wipe away with a cotton bud.

Currently retailing for £10.00 on the Avon Website but I got mine from Ebay UK so have a browse and see if you like it!

Let me know if you've tried this mascara and what do you think of the results?

Glossybox August 2013 UK Review!

My poor Glossybox was stolen on Saturday, Hermes delivered my Glossybox and put it behind my dustbin beside my house, it went walkies!! I emailed Glossybox and they got back to me a day later to confirm Hermes had put it behind my bin and would send me another box, so this morning Royal Mail dropped my Glossybox to me and I was excited until I opened it!!!!

I recieved a Perfume sample which I bloody HATE!!!! I have personally expressed my opinion to Glossybox HQ that I do NOT want to receive fragrance samples and they told me that they would take that into account for future boxes, but obviously they have totally ignored me!!! I did find out on the Glossybox Facebook page that there were a few comments from subscribers that Glossybox have admitted to ignoring paying subscribers profiles so I shouldn't be surprised that I got a perfume sample in my box!!

Another Jelly Pong Pong sample!!! Dear! Oh! Dear!!  I'll be over-run with Jelly Pong Pong products the way Glossybox are shelling them out! I wont have to actually buy a product from them as I will have them all anyway!! Jeez!

The theme of this months Glossybox is "High-flyers" They have a newly appointed CEO Rachel Kavanagh who has made this box for girls on the go!  The products are hand picked hero products from around the world,  from Sweden to Brazil, to help us to keep looking fabulous in our summer travels.

USA ~ Juicy Couture ~ 1.5ml/0.5fl.oz

Viva La Juicy Noir Full size £63.00 for 100ml

Viva la Juicy Noir highlights the succulent ripe berry notes and gourmand accents, while adding a juicy touch of honeysuckle and a sulty hint of sandalwood... Erm!! YACK!! That's my response to this perfume, I flippin' hate perfume fragrances! Why! Oh! Why! Glossybox keep torturing my poor nostrils to these totally awesome (NOT!) scents, I can't help myself from feeling dizzy and sickly from the odor of these perfumes samples they keep sending me, I beg you Glossybox " PURLEEEAASSSEEEE!!! NO MORE FRAGRANCES!!!!!!!" (rant over!)

UK ~ Jelly Pong Pong 2.8g/0.10 oz

2-in-1 Shadow/Liner Full Size £10.50

The perfect multi-tasker for travelling, This creamy 2-in-1 crayon can be used to line eyes as well as smudged and blended as an eyeshadow... Another Jelly pong Pong product mine it's a pinky, purpley, bronzey colour, not one I would choose for myself, I can add it to my other eyeliners, I would say that It smudges easily as it's also an eyeshadow so I don't think I'll get much lasting power from this!

Sweden Emite Make Up

Eyelash Curler Full Size Approx £20

Developed with professional make-up artists for their requirements, the professional Eye Lash Curler has a special curved design to suit all eye shapes without touching the make-up base. I am very impressed with this product, it fits my eyelashes really well and curls like no other lash curlers I have tried before, A big winner for me!

USA Philosophy 1 fl.oz/30ml

Purity made simple cleanser Full size £17.50 for 240ml or £28.50 for 480ml.

An award winning daily cleanser that gently and deeply cleanses, tones and melts away all face and eye makeup in one simple step, while lightly hydrating the skin, Fragrance free and formulated for all skin types, including sensitive skin. I love this product, It does have a scent to it even though it says it's fragrance free, smells like citrus scent but not too over-powering, I see in the ingredients that it has a lot of oils in it, like rosewood oil, flower oil, bark oil, sandalwood oil, clary oil, carrot seed oil, pepper fruit oil and citric acid so if you are allergic to any of those ingredients then I would not recommend you use this on your skin.

Brazil Oceane

Makeup Remover Pen full size ~ Not available in the UK

This pen delivers mobile, mess and fuss free makeup touch up and makeup mess removals, if you have a mistake with your makeup and you need to spot clean it, you can use this to dab onto the mistake and it's remedy is immediate! Comes with 3 extra nibs to swap out the dirty nib that's covered in makeup. I love this as I nearly always get mascara smudges on my face and eyelids, I just dab a couple of times over the mistake and its gone in a flash! Great product, highly recommended!

My final opinion of the August Glossybox is So-So!!  I hate the fragrance, the Jelly pong pong liner/shadow is blah!! but the Emite eyelash curler, Oceane Makeup remover and Purity cleanser are great!

What did you get different in your August 2013 Glossybox? Let me know in the comments and tell me what you think about it?

I Received July 2013's Glossybox Yesterday, I was dubious about opening it, not holding my breath for great products as last months put me in a right bad mood with poor crappy products but as I opened this months box I was quite surprised by the great items that were hiding inside...Seaside Splash Whoop! Nail Polish Paint Pots in the colour Island Hopping~13.5ml~full size £9.00

One of the all-time favourite nail brands, Ciaté, part of the Bottled Sunshine collection, this looks like orangey, bronzey, fine gold glitter polish, Very summery and on trend at the moment, I absolutely love the colour, I haven't got any of this colour in my collection and who can beat a lovely little bow round the neck of the bottle...Full size bottle too! Big thumbs up!

  • Nip+Fab Spot Fix 15ml

Spot fix gel to target affected areas for a blemish free appearance~15ml~Full size £9.95

Spot fix by Nip+Fab, a perfect opportunity to stay away from heavy make-up in the summer and to rock the natural look by using the Spot fix Anti Blemish gel to target areas where pimples and spots pop up,  just pat a small amount of gel on the affected areas and watch them disappear!!  I've tried this on a few pimples that came out due to this hot sweaty weather and by morning they were reduced in size considerably!  I would definitely but this when I run out!  Great choice for my Glossybox! Glossy Box June 2013 Review!

So.. This is my 2nd box in my subscription, I absolutely lurved  May's 2nd Birthday Box that had fabulous products in it,  I received my second box through the post this morning, Speedy Delivery, I'll give em that!  I only got my dispatched email yesterday so good going on the delivery!!

  • Perfume for women "Hugo Boss Jour " pour femme,  2ml/0.0 fl.oz

Which I absolutely Detest! I can't stand perfumes, I prefer Men's aftershave scents, I find them more acceptable to my particular individual choice! I'm not saying all women's perfumes are vile but just most of them are in my preference!
Full size 50ml for £49
www.boots.com/en/Boss/

  • Sarah Chapman Skinesis 3 Skin Tone Perfecting Booster, 5ml/0.17 fl oz
This is a serum that smells like roses, Very strong scent, not tried it yet, Just a spot on the back of my hand, It's used to lighten age spots,  sun spots, Pigmentation, discolouration of the skin on your face, chest, neck and hands if needed.
Full size 30ml for £57.00

  • Helen É Cosmetics Eye Pencil with Smudger 1.2g
My colour is Electric Blue which I never use, I know there's a fashion for using blue colours on the eyes at the moment but I have green eyes and I've always been led to believe that " Blue and Green must not be seen" I will give this pencil a good trial and see how I feel after I've had a weeks run, I might be swayed to change my opinion but then again I might not be! ( I was disappointed with the eyeliner to be honest)
Full size 1.5g for £8

  • Figs and Rouge Coco Rose Lip Balm 12.5ml
100% natural lip balm, packed with antioxidants, tinted and comes in a tube.
Cute packaging smells like roses (Again)  Glossy Box must think I'm obsessed with Roses! ( which I'm totally Not!)  Glittery pink on the lips, tastes like rose petals, quite a nice gloss but bits of glitter make it a tad scratchy, looks like I've put on a glittery lip gloss, I'm on the fence with this product, I'll use it for a week or so and see how I feel about it then!
Full size 12.5ml for £5.00

  • MeMeMe Cosmetics Long Lasting Nail Gloss 94 Amorous 12ml
Mine was a deep berry red colour, Rather different to the summer looks that are out there in fashion trend space, I would call this a winter berry colour, nice and glossy but stains your nails if you don't put a base coat on first! I've a few winter berry colours that I probably won't be using now in the so-called summer, Nice full size though...
Full Size 12ml for £5.00

My lasting opinion of this 2nd box that I've received is a NO-NO!!! (I am not a happy bunny!)     What did you get in your June 2013 Glossy box??

Bourjois BB Bronzing Cream 8in1 Review

I was shopping in Boots store and came across the Bourjois stand, they had a promotion of all the bronzing products on show so I decided to buy the BB Bronzing  Cream 8in1 £6.99 ~ I absolutely J'Adore it!!

  1. Evens skin tone
  2. Sheer tint
  3. Boosts radiance
  4. 16-hour moisturisation
  5. Smoothes skin
  6. Prolongs tan
  7. SPF 15
  8. Refreshing sensation
These are all the claims that the product has on the label, 30ml/1fl.oz,  I love the scent too!  It kinda smells like chocolate but not ?( if you know what I mean? )

I apply my normal foundation or BB/CC cream and then I dot a pump of this all over my face where I would naturally catch the sun, Like the temples, my cheeks, across my nose, my chin, anywhere where you would tan naturally, I then buff it into my skin the my Real Techniques buffing brush and I layer a few lines on my hollows of my cheeks where I would contour with matte bronzer usually but I find using the bronzing BB cream it gives a more fluidity to contouring and bronzing my face so it looks 3 dimensional instead...  I would not recommend you apply this to your whole face as you would a normal BB cream as you would look like you've been tangoed!!

If you naturally have dark skin which goes lovely and dark when suntanned then maybe you could put it all over your face as it would give a dewy glowy look but any pale faced/medium skin toned people I would recommend you dot it on your face on the parts you catch the sun and buff it in to get gorgeous bronzed glowing skin which looks much more natural than covering the whole face with it!  P.S. Don't forget to dot it on the neck too and buff into the neck as you would look like you have a mask of bronze and a pale neck!!!

Garnier BB Cream Eye Roll-on review

Hello! I'm writing a post for the Garnier BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector Eye Roll-on. I bought the colour light from Boots at £7.49p 7ml.  I've tried this today and I like the effect it gives under the eyes, It feels cold and smooth when applied and the colour pay-off is yellow which is great for dark circles and the active ingredient Haloxyl fight against dark circles and bag to refresh and massage the puffy bag so it disappears.  I applied quite a bit of product as it feels lovely and cold and then I used my ring finger to gently pat the fluid into my skin... It did look a bit to dark for my skin even though I fake tanned a few days ago so the light colour might be a bit too dark for really pale skin... I enjoyed using this eye-roll on and found it does work on my under eye bags, I don't really have huge dark circles but puffy bags from time to time...One downside to this product is the size of it! It came in the usual size box with an extra sleeve which I find wasteful! The size of the eye roll-on is teeny tiny! I had to search in the box after I opened it to find it tucked away in all the extra pieces of box inside... 7ml is not very big for the price, £7.49 is a bit more money than I would pay for the size but it does work for me so I'll probably buy again which will probably be sooner than later if I use it every day!!! Have you tried it yet?

Nivea Lip Butters ~ My Lip Saviour!

Hiya,  I bet by now you have probably seen loads of  blog and review posts for Nivea Lip Butters but I cannot stop myself by posting my excitement about how marvellous these are for dry, flakey lips!  I bought 2  from http://www.superdrug.com at £1.49p each and 16.7g/19ml in each pot... I was having a major problem with dry flakey lips since winter keeps coming and going every 5 minutes, one minute it's snowing,  Next it's sunny outside! I can't keep up!!

I've been using a few chapsticks & lip smackers but I still couldn't get them moisturised enough to get rid of the flakes and dryness that I've been encountering at the moment, especially when I wear a Matte lipstick which totally shows all the scraggy bits of lip skin that I can't get rid of!!! AAArrrrgggggghhhhhh!!!

Anyways! I absolutely have totally fell in love with these 2 Lip butters, Caramel Cream & Raspberry Rose, they both smell amazing and glide onto the lips like a dream!  They have worked wonders with getting my lips back to normal and my lips feel plump, smooth moist etc... I highly recommend buying, trying them, They have other flavours/scents too, I hope to buy those along the way, I don't think I'll be running out of both products anytime soon though!  They come packed into a round tin, not a stick balm that you usually find, more along the lines of Vaseline lip products... They leave a light colour on the lips too, with my complexion ( fair skinned in winter/fake tan in summer) The Caramel cream lip butter looks like a wash of pale gloss whilst the raspberry rose give your lips a pinkish tint... The scents/ fragrance in both are luscious, The raspberry rose smells just like raspberries with a tiny hint of rose & the caramel cream smells like caramel with a hint of milky-ness on the back of it!

So if you're looking for a bargain product that will totally (from my experience) make your lips moist and soft etc.... Here's the product for you!!!

No7 Beautiful Skin Cleansing Brush Review!

Today I bought the No7 Cleansing Brush, I was given the heads up by Mandi at the No7 Makeup counter at my local Boots store that they would be having the stock in today (Wednesday) and that they are on a promotional price of £15 instead of £25...

I bought it this morning and I had a voucher for £5 off No7 Beauty Products & £3 of No7 Makeup.

I didn't think the voucher would work but Mandi put it through the till and Bingo! £5 Off! so I got a great Bargain for £10 Whoop! Whoop!

I've heard on the grapevine that this is a  kinda Dupe for the Clarisonic except the bristles rotate all the way around instead of osscilating from side to side...

I've never tested the Clarisonic as I would never fork out the price for it as it's not on my budget!

No7 Beautiful Skin Cleansing Brush. ( 2 AA Batteries Included )
I've given the No7 Cleansing Brush a try and it does pull on the facial skin a touch as it keeps spinning in the one direction! When I applied it to my face the cleanser flicked into my eye so I had to stop to wipe it out so be careful when cleansing with this facial brush,  I've got to get into the swing of cleansing with this as I've been using the Botanics Cleansing brush which is done by hand, No batteries Included!  It has 2 speeds, Press the power button twice to increase the brush speed and get a deeper clean. I only used it on the first setting, press power button once as I have sensitive skin and I felt that it was gentler to my face...

I highly recommend buying this Cleansing Brush as I found it a Bargain price and does a great job!

The Rocket Volum' Express Mascara by Maybelline

Firstly, I must apologise for not posting on my blog for a very long time, Real life took over and I didn't have time to sit down nevermind blog   (Boo! Hiss!!)

Secondly, Hope you had a fabulous Christmas and Happy New year 2013 is here, It's the 2nd of January and I've got a 2012 Favourites coming up, There's quite a few products so be prepared!!!

My first beauty purchase of 2013 is Maybelline's The Rocket Volum' Express Mascara in Black. £7.99 (9.6ml)   I didn't think I would get hold of this in the UK as I thought it was only released in the USA recently,  I was under the impression that it would be released in the UK in February but I found it in my local Superdrug Yay!!

I totally Love this Mascara and highly recommend it to anyone who loves full long lashes.

I compared it to my other new-ish mascara by Maybelline,  the Falsies Volum' Express FLARED Mascara. £7.99 (10.6ml)

The brush bristles on the Rocket mascara are spikey and it has a thicker wand, Maybelline call it a Supersonic brush wand.

I love the effect that the Rocket mascara gave my lashes, it coated all my lashes and kept a lovely curl, even coated all the small lash hairs on the bottom ones.. One downside is that the bristles can dig into the tightline on the top lash line and they can hurt a little, don't know if this is a design flaw as I've never had a mascara wand hurt before...

I made one eye up with the Rocket Volum' mascara and the other eye with the Falsies Flared Mascara,  I asked my Boyf which eye looked better ( in a man's opinion) and he said the Rocket Volum' mascara one by a mile as it looked more separated and curled !  (blog is a bit image heavy & Excuse my redness on my cheeks as I had just cleansed my skin but not my eye makeup yet)
The Rocket Volum' Express Mascara.

the Falsies Volum' Express Flared Mascara.

The Rocket Volum' Express Mascara.

The Rocket Volum' Express Mascara.

the Falsies Volum' Express Mascara

the Falsies Volum' Express Mascara.

I still love the Falsies Flared but it is drying out a little and clumping after 2 coats, so By far the winner is The Rocket Volum' Express Mascara! YAY!! Go Maybelline!!!
